As part of the Festa Major of Sant Cugat, the Sant Cugat City Council, through the Municipal Office of Sports for Everyone (OMET) and with the sponsorship of the Gimbernat University Schools (UEG), organizes a sports night aimed at boys and girls from 5th grade primary to 2nd year of ESO. This initiative aims to promote healthy and educational nighttime leisure for adolescents.
Activity Details
Target Audience: For children and young people from 5th and 6th grade primary and 1st and 2nd year ESO
- Alevín Tournament: 5th and 6th grade primary
- Infantil Tournament: 1st and 2nd year ESO*
*There is no handball tournament in the Infantil category.
Day: Friday, June 26, 2026
Time: From 7 PM to 11:30 PM
Location: ZEM de la Rambla del Celler (pavilions 1, 2, 3)
Registration
- Registration: FREE
- Teams of 4 to 6 boys/girls.
- All teams must have an adult acting as a delegate.
- Each participant can register for only one of the 4 tournaments offered.
- Registration: June 4 to 21.
- Registrations will be limited by order of completion.
Sports Modalities
- 3×3 Basketball
- 3×3 Football
- 4×4 Handball
- 4×4 Volleyball
General Regulations
- For each sports modality, 8 teams can register per category (Alevín and Infantil)
- Competition System:
- 2 groups of 4 teams per category and sport
- Round-robin (all against all, one round)
- Semifinal and final
- Minimum of 3 matches per team
- Each match will last 12 minutes.
- “GIMBERNAT” Power Cards:
- Each team will receive 5 cards with special advantages at the beginning of the tournament, which can be used during the tournament.
- Each mixed team will receive one additional card.
- TYPES OF POWER CARDS:
- FIRE TIME: the team has the option to activate fire time, which will be 1 minute of stopwatch during which all their points/goals will count double.
- SUPERIORITY: the other team will have to play for 1 minute with one player less.
- EXTRA PLAYER: your team will play for 1 minute 30 seconds with one extra player.
- 2 CONSECUTIVE ATTACKS: grants the right to 2 consecutive ball possessions.
- WILD CARD: the team holding this card can invalidate an opponent’s superpower.
- PENALTY / EXTRA SHOT: the team holding this card can take a penalty / shot.
- Each sport will have specific regulations.
Awards
The two finalist teams of each sport and category will receive a collective prize (and among all teams participating in the final of each category and sport, another collective prize will be raffled).
Throughout the tournament, there will be special challenges for the public and participants with prizes for the winners.
