Motrijoc is an introductory activity for children in i3 with the aim of fostering motor development through play. The space is set up with psychomotor circuits, guided games, sensory activities, and body expression. It is not just physical exercise: it is a safe and stimulating environment where children explore their bodies and surroundings through movement and discovery, promoting curiosity, autonomy, and self-esteem.
Objectives
- To enhance gross and fine motor skills: facilitating children to explore broad movements (running, jumping) and more precise movements (grasping, turning).
- To develop awareness of one’s own body and the surrounding space.
- To foster creativity and expression through musical games, circuits, and sensory activities.
- To promote initial socialization: despite being games, there is interaction, collaboration, and simple rules.
- To generate habits of safety and confidence in physical activity: the environment is adapted so that children feel comfortable and can explore without fear.
- To introduce values: cooperation, respect for the space and peers, and the acceptance of limits.
Methodology
- Guided games and psychomotor circuits: varied circuits (bridges, tunnels, small jumps, balance) are designed for children to navigate under the supervision of an instructor. These structures allow for free but also guided movement, and are adapted to the children’s level.
- Sensory activities: elements such as textures, expressive elements (warming up, painting), and musical games can be added to stimulate both motor skills and sensory perception (sight, touch, hearing).
- Body expression: moments of improvisation where children can move freely, imitate animals, perform simple movement sequences, all while fostering creativity and gestural communication.
- Musical games: music can be used to set rhythms, perform dances or circle games, with or without simple instruments, to reinforce the relationship between sound and movement.
