This activity is aimed at children from 1st grade of primary school and involves practicing urban dances. Participants develop rhythm, coordination, body awareness, and expression through dance, with choreographies adapted to the age and level of the participants.
Objectives
- Develop coordination, balance, and a sense of rhythm.
- Foster body expression and creativity through dance.
- Stimulate postural awareness and the ability to move with safety and fluidity.
- Generate self-esteem and confidence in movement, as well as work on decision-making (how to move, how often to repeat a sequence, improvisation).
- Encourage group work, synchronization, and cooperation.
Methodology
- Rhythmic games: sessions begin with games that help perceive rhythm (clapping hands, following music, imitating movements).
- Simple choreographic sequences: basic choreographies are created, increasing in complexity throughout the course, designed for their age and motor skills.
- Free expression and improvisation: moments when participants can create their own movements, experiment with their bodies, and express emotions through dance.
- Small group work: allows practicing choreographies as a team, synchronizing movements, and cooperating for presentations.
- Exhibitions: throughout the course, small demonstrations or exhibitions can be held for other classmates or families, fostering a sense of community and motivation.
- Reflection and feedback: at the end of each session or choreographic period, students can be asked what they liked most or found most difficult, and instructors can explain how to improve movements or expression.
