Mini handball - Oficina Municipal d'Esports per a Tothom.

Mini handball

Mini handball is an activity that prioritizes movement, coordination, and ball play without introducing complex rules.

Sessions are highly active and combine throwing, catching, and movement games with entirely play-based team dynamics.

There is no competition, and the game does not yet resemble actual handball; the focus is on becoming familiar with the ball, understanding the space, and sharing with teammates.

Objectives

Motor objectives

  • Learning to throw and catch with different ball sizes.
  • Improving balance, turns, jumps, and rapid movements.
  • Developing adapted strength in throwing.
  • Working on hand-eye coordination and spatial perception.

Tactical objectives

  • Collaborating with teammates in group games.
  • Following simple instructions and participating actively.
  • Fostering mutual respect and communication.
  • Stimulating confidence and the courage to try new movements.

Cognitive and gameplay objectives

  • Recognizing situations such as “passing,” “running toward the goal,” and “defending space.”
  • Understanding that the game is collective and that the ball must be shared.
  • Making basic decisions: who do I pass to? when do I move forward? when do I throw?
