School Sports Games

The School Sports Games (JEE) is a program aimed at all children and young people who wish to learn and practice a competitive sport with a purely educational objective.

The School Sports Games are convened by the General Directorate of Sport of the Generalitat de Catalunya and organized by the Regional Sports Councils and the City Councils of each municipality with the collaboration of schools, clubs, and sports entities. The local phase in Sant Cugat is organized by the Municipal Office of Sport for All (OMET).

The sports offered are listed below and are aimed at school-age athletes. Ages are structured into categories, which are related to educational cycles.

The main objective is to promote sports practice as an educational, participatory, and conventional tool for the maximum number of school-age youth.

This practice must be compatible with the transmission of educational and pedagogical values (responsibility, solidarity, respect, commitment, tolerance, teamwork, acceptance of rules, etc.).

We Want 5!

Since the 2015-16 academic year, the implementation of the WE WANT 5! program has been underway, a new model of school sport in which values also count.

This is an original idea from the company that manages the Municipal Office of Sport for All, which was developed as an added value to the School Sport program and has come to fruition after being presented and adapted to the needs of the Vallès Occidental Terrassa Sports Council.

This WE WANT 5! model refers to “give me five” or “high five!”, an action of sportsmanship and camaraderie based on the idea that athletes must not only win the match but also try to maintain the 5 points related to values and sportsmanship, which will be added to the purely competitive result.
