Rhythmic gymnastics combines motor skills with the use of apparatus (such as ball, rope, ribbon, hoop) to create choreographic sequences. It is an artistic and athletic activity that enhances flexibility and precision in movements.
Objectives
- Improve coordination and flexibility.
- Develop body expression and spatial awareness.
- Master the use of apparatus: learn to manipulate the ball, ribbon, hoop, etc., and integrate them into choreographed movements.
- Foster discipline, perseverance, and effort in learning a technical and artistic sport.
- Enhance teamwork and the aesthetics of choreographed routines.
Methodology
- Structured sessions: each training includes a warm-up, technical apparatus exercises (e.g., throwing and catching the ball, jumps with ribbon), and a choreographic section.
- Gradual progress: training begins with basic movements, and complexity (rotations, tosses, combinations) is gradually increased according to age and level.
- Group choreographies: sequences are designed to be performed as a team, promoting synchronization and coordination among members.
- Competitions/school league: participants are offered the option to take part in school events (“gimnastrada” or inter-school league) to put what they have learned into practice.
