Orientation Walk - Tuesday, April 7 - Oficina Municipal d'Esports per a Tothom.

To mark World Day for Physical Activity and Health, OMET is organizing an Orientation Walk for people over 60 next Tuesday, April 7.

This is a sporting and recreational urban orientation activity adapted for people over 60, based on a team walk with a variable route between different points in the center of Sant Cugat, within the pedestrian zone located between Avinguda Cerdanyola and the station.

Participants compete in teams of 2 to 4 people and must pass through marked checkpoints (markers) on a map in a specific order. At the start, each team receives a map with the location of the markers and a control sheet where they must record their passage through the various points.

At each marker, the team must answer a trivia-style question with three possible answers (A / B / C) related to the history, curiosities, or iconic landmarks of Sant Cugat. Once the question is answered, the person in charge will stamp the team’s control sheet, validating their passage through that point.

At the time of registration, each team must choose which of the 3 available circuits they wish to complete:

  • Circuit 1. 2.1 km, 13 m elevation gain (A calmer and gentler walk, 6 stations, 30-45 min walking).
  • Circuit 2. 4.24 km, 21 m elevation gain (Long walk, 1h-1h15m walking). For those used to walking but with lower intensity.
  • Circuit 3. 4.91 km, 41 m elevation gain (Long walk, 1h-1h15min walking). For those with a high walking habit, more intense.

The walk has an approximate duration of 1h-1h30m, taking into account both travel time and stops at the markers to answer questions, and aims to promote physical activity, socialization, and cognitive stimulation among people over 60.

At the start, each participant will receive an OMET bag with water and a piece of fruit as a gift.
