From Sant Cugat City Council, we understand that the training of the technical team is key to ensuring that the sports activities offered are as educational and enriching as possible.
The pursuit of maximum quality in sports initiation has always been a priority for the Municipal Office of Sports for All and also for the city’s sports entities.
Course for Sports Activity Leader/Monitor (CIATE)
The Sports Technician Initiation Course (CIATE) is a program of the Catalan Sports Council, implemented in Sant Cugat through OMET, and is aimed at all individuals over 16 years of age who wish to enter the field of sports education.
Enabling this training for monitors is a fundamental pillar in offering the highest quality.
Now we have the opportunity to access the ROPEC (Register of Sports Professionals) by complementing the CIATE training that OMET organizes every year.
The course consists of different modules, and to obtain the certification of SPORTS ACTIVITY LEADER, the following training actions must have been successfully completed:
- Sports in school age (Common Module + Specific Module)
- First aid capsule
- Management of small sports entities
- 150 hours of practical training
- Possession of an ESO certificate
An attendance certificate signed by the Catalan School of Sport of the Catalan Sports Council of the Generalitat de Catalunya will be issued.
OMET organizes the different training actions during school holiday periods so that, upon completion of the academic year, you can be ready to undertake practical training, obtain the Sports Activity Leader certificate, and register with ROPEC (Official Register of Sports Professionals).
Internship
The total practical training hours are 150 h. Practical training can be carried out with any center affiliated with the Register of Sports Entities of the Catalan Sports Council, with an REE (Register of Sports Entities) number (in the case of an educational center, it will be a code number). Please ensure that the chosen entity is listed in the register.
This chosen center must complete the Certificate of Experience Recognition for a multi-sport activity leader/monitor, as well as a practical training log, signed by the center’s practical training tutor and the person undertaking the practical training.
Therefore, for the processing of practical training, the following must be submitted:
- Signed Certificate of Experience Recognition
- Signed Practical Training Log
- Signed Declaration of Responsibility
- Certificate or proof of ESO diploma issued by the completed center
- Copy of ID (front and back)
- Attendance certificates for the 3 CIATE modules
