This Monday, December 22, the OMET League Christmas Tournament took place. Organized by the Sant Cugat City Council through the Municipal Sports Office for Everyone (OMET), it is a multi-sport tournament aimed at boys and girls from 5th grade of Primary School to 2nd year of Secondary Education (ESO).
Fifty-five teams participated, with a total of 250 boys and girls, filling the three pavilions of the ZEM Rambla del Celler.
The winning teams in each category were:
- 🏀 3×3 Basketball. Aleví category (5th and 6th grade of Primary School): Les 4 FantásticasGer.
- 🏀 3×3 Basketball. Infantil category (1st and 2nd year of Secondary Education): SixSeven.
- ⚽ 3×3 Football. Aleví category (5th and 6th grade of Primary School): ThunderPenya.
- ⚽ 3×3 Football. Infantil category (1st and 2nd year of Secondary Education): Olimpyc Show.
- 🤾 4×4 Handball. Aleví category (5th and 6th grade of Primary School): La Mirada 1.
- 🏐 4×4 Volleyball. Aleví category (5th and 6th grade of Primary School): VoleyBoys.
- 🏐 4×4 Volleyball. Infantil category (1st and 2nd year of Secondary Education): Las Jordis.
The winning team in each sport and category received a pack of 8 free tickets to Cinemes Sant Cugat.
In this innovative tournament full of surprises, the ‘Power Cards’ initiative was repeated. This initiative was very successful in the ‘FM League’ Night Tournament during Sant Cugat’s Festa Major. At the start of the tournament, each team received 5 cards with special advantages to be used during the sporting and recreational championship. Additionally, mixed teams received two extra cards.
