Objectives
- Discovery of unconventional sports: Offer children in 1st and 2nd grade the opportunity to learn about and experience alternative sports such as Red Flag, ultimate frisbee, or adapted tchoukball.
- Added value of novelty: Foster curiosity, creativity, and adaptation to new physical challenges in game situations different from the usual.
- Cooperative and communicative competence: Promote collaboration and communication as key elements in sports where there isn’t always direct contact or clear opponents.
- Transfer of values: Continue reinforcing respect, effort, and inclusion through activities that break with traditional roles.
Specific content per sport
-
Red Flag
-
- Basic rules: avoid contact and capture the flag.
- Rapid movements, dodging, change of direction.
- Teamwork and defense and attack strategy.
- Respect and self-management of the game (no referee).
-
Ultimate Frisbee
-
- Frisbee passes: stationary and in motion.
- Scoring zones, movements without the disc.
- Fair play and autonomous conflict resolution.
-
Adapted Tchoukball
-
- Throws with precision and control.
- Coordination and quick reaction.
- Team communication without contact.
- Respect, no interceptions or blocks.
Methodology
- Sport rotation by trimester: The course is divided into blocks, and in each block, children practice 3 different sports. This facilitates depth and allows them to experience each sport.
- Modified games: Instead of playing a “real” match, rules are adapted to facilitate success and participation (softer balls, shorter distances, reduced zones, etc.).
- Short matches and rotation: Once they have some mastery, short matches or reduced competitions can be held among them to put what they have learned into practice.
- Personal challenges: Each child can have an adapted “challenge” (for example: managing to hit the racket 5 times in a row, or jumping 3 times in a circuit) to foster personal improvement.
