Yesterday, the gala for the 25th edition of the Esport en Marxa Awards was held at the Emma Vilarasau Theatre-Auditorium. The event, organized by Cugat Mèdia, recognizes Sant Cugat’s sporting achievements of the season.

In the Premi a l’esport escolar category, the aleví handball team from Ciutat d’Alba school took home the award. During the 2025/26 season, the team led by Maikel Núñez won every league, eventually being proclaimed national champions.

After winning the regional school league, played throughout the academic year, Ciutat d’Alba qualified for the Territorial Final.

At the Territorial Final, which took place on May 10 in La Roca del Vallès, they first won the semi-final against the team representing the Maresme Sports Council, and in the final, they beat the favorites, Handbol La Roca, 10 to 6.

The Ciutat d’Alba season culminated on June 6 with the National Final held in El Vendrell. In the Group 1 round-robin in the morning, they defeated Club Handbol Tarragona 12 to 8 and Club Handbol Amposta 14 to 6, thus qualifying for the Final. This match, played in the afternoon against the representative of the Barcelona Sports Council, Club Handbol Sant Andreu, ended with a 12 to 8 victory for the Sant Cugat side, who were proclaimed national champions of male aleví handball.
